What's the best way to "close" a bracelet? by PrincessRobin 10 years ago

I've noticed in several of the user pics and tutorial pics that many people start their designs with a loop and then end the bracelet with a braided tassel of some sort. So...how are those two ends "tied" together when wearing??? Forgive me if this comes off as a weird question! The way I learned to make bracelets was to knot both ends, leave a tassel at both ends, and then tie ends in a knot to fasten the bracelet around the wrist. That loop everyone else is using has me all kinds of confused!!! Please explain!!!

I always put both braids through the loop, outside to inside, and tie them together around themselves.

Really? That's not a bad idea. I may just have to try this. When I tie on a bracelet I usually have to secure the knot with a small rubber band for added security, which doesn't really look nice. Your method sounds better! Will try it.

If the loop's too big for holding that knot, I only put one braid through the loop and then tie both (one inside and one outside) together, that always stays for sure :)

How do you make the loop?
