7 string kumihimo by janelane 3 years ago

So we all know the version of a kumihimo where you only move one string every 3 spots (I might be wrong but I think it only works with 7 strings?). However I can't seem to figure out what positions the colors are going to end up, so like, if I want purple to be diagonally next to purple, I don't know how to place the strings at the start to ensure that that happens. Is there a pattern or something for this kumi method? I could easily replace colors to match ones that I want to use, I just need a starting point. I really hope this makes sense, I'm struggling to explain this haha.

I found this tutorial that shows patterns how the individual strings move in a 7 strand kumihimo braid.

Our tutorial is here
You can use other amounts of string too. There’s no diagram, but the example is with all different colors, so you should be able to figure it out from there too.
