Bracelet twisting? by loyalbook1083 2 years ago

So I’m new here, and I really only know one pattern that I learned at girl Scout camp. It’s simple stripes, usually three or four threads. I’ve been getting a little bit back into it, but I always have the same problem. The bracelet starts twisting around itself in a spiral manner. Now I figured out that I can put a paper clip at the end of where I’m working to keep it straight so I don’t lose the pattern, but am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to keep it from twisting?

Is it pattern #1, the candystripe? When making lots of one knot type, it's common for the bracelet to curl a little. Make sure you make your knots properly (both halves). You could also try tying tighter or looser.

And make sure you make two knots. Every knot we make is actually two knots on top of each other. If you only make one of them your bracelet will always come out spiral.

I think it probably is the candystripe. And thank you! That’s probably what I’ve been doing wrong!
