What knots do each arrow represent????

especially the downwards one!

The patterns have visual guides below them which show you how to make each knot. There are also tutorials which explain the process in depth.

right arrows = forward knot
left arrows = backward knot
down arrows = DEPENDING on which way you're going, they mean either backward or forward knot. if you are going RIGHT with your background string the down arrows will be a backward knot. if you are going LEFT then the down arrows mean forward knot.
