K I am confused with alpha patterns, how do you add a third colour? I get the two colour saw the video but can't see it well what do you do with the end of the colour you added. If you cut it it looks terrible. I finally get the two colour one. And also one more question how do you prevent holes when doing f/b and b/f knots ? I get holes when doing the straight forward and backwards knots there fine....please Help..... |

well depending on how you're doing it, you can either tie both of the colours up together and knot the background onto both colour strings, like in the video Gracie04 made. or if you're sneakily adding the third colour in, you can tie it off in the back, cut the excess and i then what i've done before is get clear nailpolish and put some on so the strand doesn't stick out. seems to work for me. it's all trial and error. my first few multi's looked bloody awful.

when doing f/b and b/f knots the half knots I always seem to have holes in them. I do use nail to push them up but still get holes, I tried tying loose and tight. Still get those darn holes I see some of the photos and a lot don't have any holes at all.

if you mean the back looking horrible, don't worry. you just want the front to look pretty. the back will be against your skin so it'll be hidden. the backs of mine are riddled with bits and pieces sticking out lol. |

oh and the holes i think i might have an idea about. you're probably pulling your knots up too tightly. they should be snug, but you don't have to yank the knot up. |

yeah I don't pull too tightly I found that by pushing with your nail kinda works but still have holes i guess its the way the knot is tied. As for colour changing I will try it again :/ but I just don't like the idea of cutting the ends of and starting a new colour. I love the look you can get with alphas and there are some neat ones I want to do like tootsie roll, M&M's and pac man ones. This is the last of tying i have to learn how to do. I only been doing these for about 3 weeks and have done about 15 patterns so far those are the so easy to do. my first was ying yang but it had all sorts of holes. the pattern was easy to follow. |
