Double Chain Knot?????? by sammy197 14 years ago

Hi!! so, i know how to make a double chain knot. 6 strings divided into two equal groups, and a bunch of forward knots(: but i've been making my own version of them. well, for starters, i use more than 6 threads. sometimes i even use 10 or more. it turns out amazing!! and, i use more than 2 colors!! for one, i made all the strings different colors!! these are still considered double chain knots?? right?? i really think they are. but hey? i just gave u some great ideas!!! thanks for reading,,,

The double chain knot is where you do one forward stitch and one backward stitch with two colors. Meaning, say your two colors are pink and green, you do one pink forward stitch (you only do ONE STITCH, not the regular two stitches. So, half of one full knot.), then do a green backward stitch. I think you're talking about the chinese staircase, which is completely different from the double chain knot. If your using more than two colors that show seperately, than that definitely isn't a double chain knot. Hope this helps! :)
