How to tie the knot

Step 1

Take the string to the right and put it under the string in the middle and over the string on the left.

Step 2

Take the string on the left and put it over the strings in the middle and through the loop that the first string made. Pull tight. You are done with one half square knot.

Step 3

Now, you shall do the same again, but mirrored. Take the string to the right, put it over the string in the middle and below the string to the left.

Step 4

Take the string to the left, put it under the middle string and out through the loop that the last string created. Pull tight, and you are done with a square knot.

Square knot bracelet with beads

Here is how you make a square knot with beads. You will need 4 strings (all the same color looks best) Take the two strings on the outside to the side and the two in the middle together and tape them down to your work area. Let?s get started!

Here is what it looks like.

Step 1

Take the tape off of the two strands in the middle but keep them together. Take your bead and put it on the two strands in the middle.

Step 2

Take the three strings closest to the right and set up the strings where they fall like the two on the outside and the one in the middle. Then repeat steps 1 ? 2. There is one string left over so don't get confused.

Step 3

Repeat step 4 only using the three strings closest to the left. The last string to the right for the right side will be used again so don't get confused.

If the bracelet isn't long enough for your wrist, repeat step 1 to 5 until it's long enough for your wrist.
