Introduction
This is a bracelet I learned from a book, but you guys probably all know a version of it from somewhere :)
I will post the video when it is finished uploading to the computer. Until then, here are the basic instructions.
Materials
First, get 4 colors of embroidery floss, and cut 2 lengths of thread for every color (or 4 extra-long ones if you fold 'em in half) to make 8 strands, about 15-30 in. long each. Start the bracelet however you like--buckle, overhand knot, or otherwise.
Step by Step
Step 1
Now, separate the strands into 4 groups, 2 strands each. Start the bracelet with a 4-strand [flat] braid. This will be (more or less) 1/3 of the bracelet.
Step 2
Just in case you haven't gotten your threads in order: get a peice of tape. Arrange the threads like you would a chevron/arrow bracelet.
Step 3
Next, we start the knotting. I'll try and explain this properly.
First: make a knot in the center with the two threads in the center.
Next: Make a small arrow with the next inside set of threads.
Then: Make another arrow with the next set of threads.
Finally: Make a left-hand (right half-hitch, aka forwards) knot with the thread on the far left. Make a right-hand (aka left half-hitch, backwards) knot with the same thread, on the same thread. Now, repeat on the other side.
Step 4
Repeat, but upside-down arrows, except for the one thing: do not knot over the last thread on the outside. (Does that make sense?) So if you do an arrow, don't complete it, leave 1 more knot off each time. Wait till the video if this doesn't make much sense.
Video
I believe this is a video for the bracelet.
