Hi. This pattern doesn't start with the black bordering like in the final picture so I was confused when I'm supposed to make the black bordering. Also, the pattern calls for 12 threads. Am I supposed to fold them in half and tie them like most friendship bracelets start off? Thank you!

Just follow the pattern as it is and the border will apear. I never fold my strings in half. I hope this helps.

If you are used to folding your threads in half... yes, this pattern calls for 3 strings of each colour, so you will need to cut a half length thread which won't be folded in half for the 3rd thread.

It doesn't really matter.. Fold your strings in half if you are used to that, but you could do it with just 12 seperate strings if you want.

The border will appear.;)
