If you are making a Alpha/letter pattern, you need to count the # of treads you have, multiplie them by 10 and put that in centimeter

ex.
8 strings
8x10=80
80=80cm


As for the backround, add 1m to the calculation.

ex.

8x10=80+100=180
180=1.80m
