Hi,

I just bought a few cabochons but they were to small so instead of 1mm waxed polyester string I want to use 0.5 mm waxed polyester string? Its sort of a mission - because I would like to cage them but I need string that is 0.5mm and burnable?

i found some unbranded string of that type in hobbycraft, you could try going there.

You can split your 1 mm thread. 0.5 mm is hard to get, unless you don't mind using non-waxed nylon, like C-lon.
