Hi guys, I'd really like to knot the #89001 pattern (the boat sailing in the sunset pattern). Can you recommend the good color combo for sunset (for that pattern)?

do you know which brand you'd be using? the most common one in the usa is dmc embroidery floss. Here's a link to the color chart for dmc floss: http://www.camelia.sk/dmc_1.htm

I'd start with these dmc flosses from the top down for the sunset: 606, 970, 741, 725, 3865, 504, 996, and 3838. 939, 924, or 451 for the boat, depending on what your preference on the color of the shadow is from the sunset.

but, my idea basically is to go from a dark orange to a blue violet in a gradient.

I found a link to an online version of the DMC color chart that is arranged like paint swatches with the colors grouped by hue. It's actually a scan of a hard copy color chart made by DMC. http://www.yarntree.com/075dmc.htm
