Washing glow in the dark thread by Dai 6 years ago

Send PM

Hi! Recently I bought some dmc's glow in the dark floss, and I was planning on doing a kumihimo lanyard with it. I know it will eventually get dirty (I mean, it's white), so I was wondering if there's a special way to wash it that won't ruin the glow in the dark effect. Or if the effect will fade over time no matter what.
I've never used this kind of thread before so any opinions on it will be helpful. Thanks in advance! :)

I haven't used it yet, and i haven't seen it at my local michael's yet. dmc is known for being quite colorfast and machine washable.
maybe try washing it by hand with woolite if you're worried? woolite is a detergent known to be good for delicate fabrics.

I have used it, and the bracelet is still glowing after several years. I haven?t washed it, since I don?t wear it very much. A gentle hand wash should be fine, I think.

Thank you both! It's good to know the glowing still works after a few years :) I'll try woolite then!
