I'm looking at making a dog collar and I want it to be about an inch wide. Does anyone know what string count I need for that width?

I'm not sure ordinary embroidery floss will be suitable for a dog collar. It'll be too flexible and might cut into the dog's neck.

If it's purely decorative (won't have a lead attached) then I'd say you want about 24 strands.
