Striped Bracelets aren't Striped by minty_choc 4 years ago

Hi! I've been making bracelets for a while now and I only just discovered that they are meant to be striped. The ones that I have made look like they have a zig zag pattern. I've followed tutorials and I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right. Can anyone help? Thank you :)

I'm not an expert, But I usually find that this happens when you tie either to tightly or not tightly enough, you really need to try for the sweet spot. Hope that helps!

Do you mean you made a certain pattern that should result in a striped bracelet? Can you show a picture of what you mean?

I think usually people take pictures from the other side of the bracelet that might be a reason for the different look. You also seem to use variegated string which also causes a different effect. But I'm not entirely sure.

I wouldn’t know why this should be striped. It looks like you need to work a bit on your tension, but I don’t see any other real problem.
I too think you might be mistaken with the backside vs the frontside. The backside can look striped, but that depends on the pattern. A candystripe will look striped, but a plaid will be more zigzagging. But ,as said, that’s what we consider the backside.

Turns out I was doing my forward knots wrong. I was able to fix my tension too so it looks heaps better now. Thank you so much!
