elongated bracelet by Elisa49 2 years ago

Hello everyone,

I could use your help!

When I make alpha bracelets, they are super long. However, my threads are the same thickness as they come from the same place.

I have tried tightening my knots a little less and then a little more but it doesn't make any difference.

What I don't understand is that I don't have the problem with normal bracelets.

Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thank you in advance for your help.

It's normal that your alphas are longer. The knots in alpha bracelets are arrenged verticaly, but not in normal bracelet. That make the bracelet longer. You aren't doing anything wrong :)

Oui mais ça déforme mes dessins.

Quand le pattern montre un cercle moi ça fait un ovale, tous est allongé.

Oops, sorry I forgot to copy the translation
So I was saying...

Yes but it distorts my drawings.

When the pattern shows a circle, I make an oval, everything is elongated.

That is normal. Here are a few things you can try to avoid it:
- using thicker base strings or doubling your base strings
- making looser knots
- pushing the rows up using a ruler or something similar after each row

As mentioned above, you can do a few things to make the knots more square. Especially pushing up your rows will help. Also note that the ‘squares’ in our alpha generator are already slightly elongated.
