The Anger/Annoyance Thread by Stellaphone 14 years ago

Okay, so a lot of people have posted very rude things on here, simply out of anger or annoyance. Well, post 'em HERE, not on somebody else's innocent questions, for goodness' sake! If you must vent, do it here. Just don't swear, and it's all good.

I'm really sick of chatspeak. No one realizes it makes them look incredibly stupid when they use it. When someone seems stupid, it makes me not want to help them out on finding the multicolored alpha tutorial, which is also an incredible annoyance.

@ carrie I so agree! also, I think a big problem with chatspeak is that everything's so abbreviated that politeness just got left off along the way. so many people just ask stuff without even saying please -- and I get really annoyed that some poor, patient sucker answers them anyway! great, now I've gotten all worked up... ;-)

I have commented on a few of those patterns, and I have gotten worked up. I myself use "chatspeak" on Facebook, but I wouldn't think of it on here. I really do hate when people go "How do I do it? I read only one tutorial and it didn't make sense!", so I make them PM me. It saves a lot of time, and if they don't want help that badly, that's their problem.

I just despise the fact that people don't bother to look themselves. If I start using all caps, LIKE SO, that means I have given [a person] fair warning that I am annoyed at [a person's] ignorance. But once I get all worked up, [a person] usually ends up saying, "You're rude. I don't understand the ONE TUTORIAL that I have read, and I have NOT read through the comments, and here you are yelling at me." Ugh!!!!! Almost as annoying as Lilbit (a girl who used to go to my school)! (No, that's not her real name.)
